In reaction to the behaviour of others. But in an increasingly conformist society that has no standards people will end up only ever criticizing those who aren't enjoying themselves enough when they're surrounded by people who let it all hang out in the most degenerate manner. Her own opinion is enough for her. She doesn't feel the need to debase herself so as to not be a threat to others by trying to fit in with those who spend their evenings talking about their tedious sexual exploits. She is not at all intimidated by a 27 yeard old hardfaced woman (or her cronies) who have been absolutely vicious towards others and who is, frustratingly, there until the end unless something happens.
Seems like a tough cookie to me.
