Yes, he gets that because he shrugs it off and doesn't pull him up on it.

If he actually told him to stop he may get an apology. Like Ash has apologised for throwing names about before.

It's a bit pointless to go off whinging about someone joking when you don't pull them up to tell them "it's not a joke".
