I'd consider a farting competition to be much worse - hopefully they won't progress to that when their boredom gets deeper.

I find people picking their noses more irritating to watch than people burping.

That's not to say that I never do either of those myself.

I can do 70 burps a minute and fart for 20 seconds. A time and place for everything though and of course who you are with.
