You are quite right. Helen overhears a conversation by obviously legitimate means. She then chooses not to engage with Ashleigh and Chris about what she overheard while her neck was wedged in the doorway. Instead she immediately confronts Mark and "tells it as it is", still choosing not to have any dialogue with the errant pair. Helen clearly deals with this in her usual passive and even-handed manner.
