From the link in the OP:
Quote:
The suspected attacker, who officials said had become influenced by radical Islam, has been shot and killed.
The attack in Quebec was the first such incident in Canada since the country joined the fight against Islamic State militants.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police spokesman David Falls said the suspect "was known to Federal authorities" and "authorities were concerned that he had become radicalised".

An individual known to the authorities as possibly having been radicalised kills a soldier in the wake of Canada joining the fight against IS and those three factors might all be coincidence? Even on the very slim chance that they are putting forward what is by far the most likely explanation and motivation is what investigation is about, Sky news are only reporting the police's main line of enquiry atm
