I am all for freedom for all individuals but I have said this before on here and do so again.
I do believe in light of the present situation as to terrorism, that every citizen and visitor to the UK should now have the right to be able to see clearly, at least the faces of those they are walking the streets with, going into Stores and other public places with and who they may have to deal with too in face to face situations.

Too true. A while ago, I was out shopping with my wife and we pulled up in the car outside P.C. World. It was peeing it down so I pulled up the hood of my top and we bolted from the car into the store. I had only just stepped into the store proper when I was approached by a PC staff member and politely asked if I wouldn't mind pulling my hood down. I answered that I was going to do just that but he hadn't given me chance to do so. I understood why he'd requested so just pulled down my hood and went into the shop, rounded an aisle looking for a printer, and the first thing I saw was a small group of Muslims including two women in full burkas/niqabs.

I think that is disgraceful of the staff member and you are 100% right as to those in burkhas, I mean in all truth,we should know and be able to see clearly who is actually wearing them but in the current tense climate everywhere, how do we really know now.

I've never seen anyone abuse muslims, or blacks, or jews, or gays, or any minority.

I've never actually witnessed any kind of violent discrimination.

I know that must be hard to believe when you Brits hear constantly how racist America is, but i've never seen anything racist or islamophobic in person. have you?

I Suppose i won't know until i am in that situation. I'd like to think i'd do the right thing though.

I'd like to know if anyone here has ever witnessed violent discrimination against a minority? and did you do anything to defend them?

I don't like "experiments" like this, they're provocative and meaningless. It's like they're trying to prove people are bigots when actually, the vast majority of people are pretty decent. If they want to impress me with how liberal and decent people are, do an experiment like this in Saudi, have a man beat a woman in the street and see how many people step in to help her.
