It was 3 stories about life I guess. From a crew of thugs who seem to have no future, to a gang-banger looking to be rehabilitated by romance, and an aimless young father who simply needs to grow up, the director brings urban life to the movie screens without simplifying, preaching or pandering.
Fishburne as the movie’s moral center tries to impart responsibility and awareness in his son of the realities of life as a Black male in America.
Otherwise it’s a sadly optimistic and touching classic that confidently conveys a coherent solemn mood of a modern American wasteland.
Any film with Ice Cube, Tupac Shakur and Tyrese Gibson is ok with me.
