Haha that picture

Just don't understand this self loathing attitude that seems to be popular among the 'liberals' nowadays. Nobody ever kicks off about the Spanish colonisation campaigns or Japan's horrific regimes in Korea but instead target the British Empire as some sort of ultimate evil that cannot be matched. For me the events that Nazi Germany oversaw between 1933-1945 far overshadows the 'misdeeds' of the English from all the way back when the Normans stuck an arrow in Harold Godwinson's eye and nicked his country. But nah it's US that should all be ashamed to be English. Just us. **** it I'm proud to be English.

It has, and I bet too other countries have sprawling conurbations with recent and multi generation immigrants as well as pockets with little or no integration with the indigenous population. Why is this so hard for OFSTED to understand?

Brilliantly put.

These bastards have their own covert agenda and will not stop until every town's skyline is filled with the domes of Mosques, every Christian chapel and church are Bingo halls, and we are all living under Sharia law - or dying under it because we don't fit the brief.

To play devil's advocate here though, there is a point to be made that diversity awareness needs to be taught because the kids will meet a very different world outside of their rural bubble, perhaps Ofsted considered the school was not doing enough to prepare kids for their post-primary school life in that regard. Hard to say without knowing all the details, but the 'too English' description is slightly misleading considering it's not the words of Ofsted but those of the Mail and apparently of the parents.
..I agree with you and I don't think it's even playing devil's advocate because they did get a great..(good) Ofsted but the head herself acknowledges that they haven't done enough in terms of linking or twinning with other schools to give the children an understanding of other cultures/traditions etc but it's something they are working on..so they really couldn't have got an 'Outstanding'....there are a lot of similar rural schools to this and mine is one of them but we're twinned with some inner city London schools and also one in Africa and one in India as well....if other cultures are not taught then indeed there will be a 'bubble effect' to the children's education and that's something Ofsted do and should consider imo...

I agree, that on these controversial topics, we are always reliant upon the accuracy and honesty of the source, for formulating our opinions, and I also agree that "diversity awareness" does need to be taught, but, in my opinion, this can often be achieved by good teaching alone. No one needs to wheel in a gagged and bound Peter Sutcliffe on a sack trolley - 'Hannibal Lecter' style - and seat him in class for three years to teach kids about serial killers.

Joking apart, that would be a pretty dangerous thing to do if the situation wasn't correctly monitored eh?

Well no more dangerous than what could transpire if this school - or others like it which are in more racially diverse locations - capitulate to Ofsted and go too far in their efforts to please and appease it.

They could ultimately end up in a situation where the indigenous 'English' children become the 'ethnic' minority, and its performance figures plummet faster than Ed Milliband's popularity. There are numerous inner city schools where this is the actual 'Status Quo'.

As I have said before elsewhere - true integration in this country does not exist outside of white collar, middle class areas.

Adult immigrants are highly suspicious of, contemptuous of, or even racially intolerant of, British people. For diverse reasons, upon coming to Britain, they gravitate to locations where their 'own kind' are already ensconced, and 'Ghettos' are formed - and yes, I am dealing with Asian immigrants here.

For the most part, these adult immigrants keep themselves to themselves, remain suspicious of indigenous British people, and do not attempt to learn the English language, or British customs.

Over time, these areas become 'seed beds' where the more educated, intelligent and radical immigrants (or even British born grown up children of immigrants) develop their extreme fundamentalist viewpoints from their original contempt of we British. It is then not long, before these fundamentalists emerge from the shadows and begin to brazenly denounce our traditions, morals, and 'Western' way of life.

This is not integration, it is desired usurpation. They do not want to 'fit in' with us, they want to eradicate this free, democratic, multi-cultural, multi-faith country and replace it with another State of Islam.

This being so, it is only within schools and with children, where real integration has any realistic chance of actually being achieved, but there has to be a sensible and cautious agenda. Otherwise - as stated - it could all too easily result in a situation where the indigenous 'English' children become the 'ethnic' minority.

I believe that since the report under discussion, it has emerged that Ofsted has actually criticised some of these inner city schools for the same reason - though I don't know if this is genuine criticism or a just a show of PC 'balancing'.

What I do know, is that this is the greatest country on the planet and it's people are among the most racially tolerant on the planet, but in order to keep it this way, we need to ensure that 'tolerance' does not become 'apathy'.

St. Francis Xavier famously said: “Give me the child until he is seven and I’ll give you the man”.

Let's just ensure that the 'Man' is not a Muslim Fundamentalist sympathiser due to being 'given' to the wrong people until the age of seven.
