Yeah I think people lambasting him for being 'stupid' or 'reckless' are sort of missing the point. He wasn't doing this for fun or as a part of some game, I'm sure he knew full well the risks and that it was an incredibly dangerous thing to do, coming from a country like that you're going to have a greater appreciation than any of us about life's dangers and its difficulties. This was a risk he took which didn't pay off, he gambled with his life to get into this country because the alternative was considered so much worse.

I disagree, I think he just was too poorly educated to realise the dangers. He was not desperate he was just too stupid.
