I have been thinking about this recently and I watched the clip of her saying the N word. She never meant to offend anyone. Nicki and Charley wasn't even offended. Emily said someone else said it but didn't say who
![]() To me she should have gotten a warning.

No, definitely not - especially when Charley said it later on in the series and got a warning.
Emily was just unfortunate in being in the series straight after the racism controversy. |

No-one should've known about what she said and she should of just been warned; but then again 5 months earlier the whole Shilpa-gate happened so I think they were covering their arses just to show 'Hey, We know we didn't react properly in January but we have learnt our lesson, look!'

I think she just said without thinking ,Nicki laughed and Charley was only bothered about Emily going to be in trouble. None of them was offended. But I agree the clip should have been edited.

Watching it back it wasn't even said in an offensive context. She obviously just let slip on a word that she would normally say around friends (by the looks of it).
Although after CBB5 it's understandable she was kicked out. C4 weren't really in a good position to keep her in the house. The show was under too much scrutiny. |

I think it should have not been showed, and it should have been kept a secret because it wasn't that serious of offended any of the housemates.

Yes, but only because of the controversy before it. Had this happened prior to CBB5 it would have been the wrong decision.

They laughed but was shocked she said it but they didn't care, Charley was only concerned that Emily will get in trouble. Charley would have kicked off if she was offended I mean it's Charley

Fair point. I think in hindsight it was probably a bit reactionary after CBB5 but at the same time what else could've been done? A slap on the wrist or 'formal warning' would've been derided by the public, and your "hide it ever happened" idea would've just got the show in tonnes of trouble since these things never have a way of staying truly hidden (one of the housemates would've probably revealed it in an interview).

why would they be a upset? when they can easily pick up the phone to evict Emily like they did with Jade.
If the public was offended and had the chance to evict her they would have

Yes, after the CBB5 thing there would of been more negatively on the show if the producers didn't remove her

No, I don't think so.
And to be fair, Laura called Liam a "****" as a joke and wasn't removed. ![]() A formal warning, with her being removed if she said it again (as with Ken) would have sufficed. But then, BB8 was in the aftermath of the race row so I guess letting her stay might have caused a fuss too. Last edited by Lostie!; 19-01-2015 at 01:41 PM. |

Too glam to give a damn

BB & Channel 4 were in a whole load of **** for the way they dealt with the CBB5 controversy.
Removing her was the only option to ensure their reputation wouldn't be tarnished any further. There would've been a backlash had they let her stay. |
