he wants to leave because after Friday night, he knows the british public hate him too, apart from a few misguided people

I agree he misjudged the GBP, everything changed for him after the crowd noise. I'm sure he would have watched every other CBB and knows you can't (or at least he can't) come back from that. Now he will be looking at damage limitation.

When he does leave, I fully expect him to attack the British public hoping to ally himself with anti-British people. Probably accusing the GBP ofor being a homophobic country.
