You're allowed to have opinions obviously. Just don't bring members into it. Every member can support whoever they want, but when people start talking about fans of housemates and say what they type, it's not acceptable. Discuss housemates, not the fans.

I said something the other day regarding the fans of certain people. I didn't curse, didn't call people names and was very careful how I voiced myself but was immediately told I was breaking the rules and that we aren't allowed to write anything that could be seen as derogatory or offensive towards other members using this site. I can see why; I mean, where would it begin and where would it end.... what's offensive?...how long is a piece of string?!?.

My point is, how can we suggest that Hopkins is great because she speaks her mind and doesn't care who she offends when the press have created a captive audience for her to do just that and even pay her to spread vitriol and hate. We, her audience don't have that same luxury. We her audience are censored, edited and deleted.

There are plenty of places that you can insult her fans if that is your pleasure, just not here. Other than that you can say pretty much what you like.

Your second point about the media, I can only say money talks, if enough people stop buying the paper or watching the show and the owners link that to KH she will be out on her ear, other than that or if she breaks the law she has freedom's of speech and freedom to offend.

With regard to censorship and the right to reply, if you mean this forum, please see my first point, if you mean TV/Newspapers your right you have no right to reply on their dime. However we are lucky to live in an age where media is available to the masses. You could start a "I hate Katie" site, or Facebook, Twitter, etc and move to get enough people on your side. You still can't stop Katie saying what she wants after that, nor should you be able to.

She's not intellectual! An intellectual has a good understanding of reality. They are cultured creators or mediators who's opinions come from critical study of a subject. At best, Hopkins is a 'sudo intellect ' and a superficial snob.

but you are not censored from commenting on the housemates which is the focus of the forum. You can make any relevant point without targeting forum members and therefore making it a personal attack. All it requires is a bit of thought before posting

I don't believe Katie has ever claimed to be an intellectual. Thus can't really blame her for labels others have placed on her, if she called herself a Doctor then she would be wrong, if someone else called her a Doctor it's not her responsibility.

As far as snob goes, I can see where you are coming from, as a dictionary definition, a lot more people than you think would be classed as snobs, myself included. I know it is generally meant as an insult, which is of course fair enough.

As a housemate she has been a better than I believed she would be until the last 2 nights highlights.

Overall however I cannot stand the woman, I would likely be arguing with her all the time if I knew her.
