I'm pretty sure it would be hurtful and wildly offensive regardless.

Of course, the "it's just a persona" thing is just one excuse used to justify her words, "she tells it like it is" and "she's just joking" being others.

It's also quite tiring to see some of her fans continuously blame others for judging her for comments she chooses to make. Sorry, but she alone bears the responsibility for any hurt she causes, her "I don't give offence, you take it" line is crap and a weak way to absolve herself of any responsibility for her own actions.
When did words begin to hurt and offend so much

When did we lose the ability to just shrug it off.

When did we start using offence as a weapon to destroy someones life and reputation.

Joan Rivers was an advocate for keeping humour raw, offensive, provocative.

If people stopped taking her so bloody seriously they'd see the brilliant character she is

And there's a perfect example of what I was talking about in regards to blaming those who get offended, rather than the person causing the offence in the first place.

I don't recall ever attempting to destroy her life or reputation (the latter of which she's never had a positive one to destroy in the first place). I'm merely forming judgements on the things she says in public, which is entirely fair.

And people shouldn't have to shrug everything off, if somebody is angered or offended by something, they have every right to feel that way. They're not suddenly in the wrong for reacting to something offensive that someone chose to say publicly.

Also, and I'm genuinely curious about this, why is it just Katie's comments we should shrug off? Where is the "shrug it off" attitude towards Perez, for example? Why don't you "shrug off" any negativity towards Michelle instead of making several threads blasting anyone who doesn't like her? I'm not making a dig, I'm honestly wondering where the distinction begins.

I find it completely baffling that you're so passionately offended by someone on a reality tv show.

Perez has accused people in the house of really serious things. Unfounded and without basis.

He has taunted and feared and mad everyone in there feel bad. He has brought the atmosphere of the house down

EVERY SINGLE HOUSEMATE SAYS IT.

Any negativity from the forum towards Katie is based on preconceptions of her before she went in. Any negativity thrown at Michelle is because she dares to not follow the sheep and actually befriend Hopkins.

And i find irritating and intolerable that people through words around about them like, 'vile' and 'witch' etc

Its boils my piss because Michelle is a really really decent human being and I'm getting the feeling all the Perez support is FMs wanting to be anarchic and go against the grain.

It feels like trolling to me

Nope, my disappointment with Michelle is based on her own actions, which I've gone into detail with more than once. I've no desire to go over the same stuff yet again, especially with someone who I know read my thread on the subject and continues to ignore peoples' opinions to form their own narrative of why people feel a certain way.

And yes, I have a bad impression of Hopkins because of the things she said before CBB. So what? Once again, if you make public comments like that, it's fair to be judged on them. Though, if you're suggesting that she's done nothing in the house to cause people to dislike her, you're wrong on that count too with me. Along with that, though, I've seen things I've quite liked from her too (how her relationship with Alicia seemed to become more affectionate by the end, mainly), but that doesn't erase the things I don't like.

And regardless of your opinion on Perez and those who support him, surely your "shrug it off" attitude should stand for all housemates and not just Hopkins?

When the op talks about sheep, does she realize that it takes more than two sheep to make a flock!
