If being curious is the same as being nosy, then I'm very nosy!
I think my first word was 'why' and I've never stopped wanting to know more.
However, I find it distasteful to read other peoples mail or listen in on conversations not meant for me. Having said that if I am on a bus for example and can't help but overhear a conversation it's very difficult not to enjoy it, especially when it's two women tearing a third woman's reputation to shreds!

Actually the 2 mums that wait for the bus and I have been going down there for 2 years and i still dont know their names. I think its a by-product of being unfriendly.
One wonders why your wife ever left

I think you would have to be in a coma not to look out if a commotion is going on outside

I'm really nosy, i even brush my teeth whilst looking out of the bedroom window!

This has been of benefit though to some passers by, as I've found a drunk woman sprawled across my drive, with the contents of her purse everywhere, we had to call an ambulance as we could not wake her and it was freezing temperatures, another drunk person curled up on the pavement across the road from us and i sent hubby out to check he was ok, the man then got up and stumbled off (hopefully) home.

I have also protected a teenager from bullies as they circled him and all 5 foot of me yelled at the bullies to **** off and leave him alone, i called them cowards as they were 4 - 1, they soon got on their bikes and left!

So in a nutshell, yes i'm nosy, but i also see this as a public service i'm offering

Other than that I try to respect peoples privacy. Although in some situations, especially with close friends/family, you cannot help but ask for more details.

I don't really feel nosy looking on Facebook half the time mainly because its peoples own faults for plastering their personal lives all over social media.
Can't stop laughing at that nosey cat clip you posted, I've watched it slowly sneak up at the window about 5 times now.

I'm not nosey with friends or family about their personal lifes. If they want to talk to me about something fine I would tell them I'm always there to listen, but I would never grill anybody on anything that I got the impression they would prefer not to talk about. I wouldn't ask personal questions to others about them either behind their back.

However I do a lot of the other things mentioned in this thread.

If I hear an argument outside I mute the tv to hear what's going on, would sometimes be afraid to peep out though in case I got caught looking. I would look though if it became a massive argument or if it sounded like it had gotten physical and someone might be in danger.

Silly drunken couples arguments are often hilarious though.

I'm also another one who hates to hear one side of a phone conversation if it sounds like it was interesting. I only do that with my boyfriend though, because if he gets animated on the phone it MUST be something juicy or very funny so I'm like, "put it on loudspeaker!" This is of course only if it's a mutual friend on the other line who already knows I'm there. If it was something private or serious he'd probably leave the room though that's never happened yet, it's usually gossip or a funny embarrassing story that would peak my interest.

And yes, I don't bring headphones out and about so if I was on a bus or train I would listen to a conversation beside me if it happened to be interesting. It would help pass the time.

I would think most of us BB fans must be a little bit nosey and have an interest in observing other people. None of my friends like BB, they're like "why would I want to watch people just sitting in a house, doing daft tasks and bitching about each other for a couple of months?"

I'm more like "why wouldn't you?!"
