So by your logic you feel that all unarmed criminals in the USA must not get shot

even if the police have no way of knowing if they have a gun?

I'm merely pointing out that there are a lot of unarmed people getting shot. The poster actually described this armed person as 'annoying'; an armed person is never just annoying in my view and if unarmed people make the police so scared that they kill so many of them then why are the armed people considered less of a threat.

It's guys with concealed unlicenced firearms that kill people.
Obviously this does'nt excuse the police using excessive force on unarmed citizens but the police deal with these open carry loonies all the time and know they are'nt a threat.
Agree with this. The police do indeed use excessive force against unarmed citizens.

All unarmed suspectsyou're not a criminal until convicted.

If the police have no evidence of a gun then they should not shoot to kill no.

At least you are consistent Arista.

In this instance where the man is causing trouble and is armed near a school if ever there was an incident that warranted the overwhelming force the police like to use against unarmed people then this was it. I think the officers handled this well but if they had forced him to the ground and held him there in a choke hold IMO it would have been justified.

2nd amendment or not gun owners should not be carrying loaded guns around schools.

This man is clearly disturbed and is acting in a suspicious and ultimately dangerous manner. This man is looking for confrontation with the police so why should we be surprised if he is arrested or worse.

My own view is that this man is not of sound mind and should not be allowed to carry firearms in public or anywhere for that matter.

The police have better things to do than be baited by nutters like this and I have no problem in any course of action the police decide to adopt to take this deluded armed man off the streets.

I've seen plenty of occupy protesters far more aggressive and provocative than this guy, and they didn't get shot either.
