I think he is mixing up progressive with being politically correct. PC has gone wild, and it is giving people a free pass who would not normally have had one. However, I have seen no evidence to suggest that there is a ground swell of support for ISIS on the back of being PC. I also think that the world in general has been astute enough to see the difference between an ordinary law abiding muslim and a terrorist. If he had stuck with political correctness as a topic rather than target an entirely new breed of people under a term that means nothing, his argument would not have lost all sense of perspective.

His definition of a 'progressive' and the defamation of said sub group. I believe this is just abusing anyone who challenges the tabloid inspired fear driven stereotypes perpetuated in them.
