It seems you're at an advantage if you have an agent of some sort, or you've been in the public eye before. But then again, like I said in a separate thread a couple of days back, there are an abundance of shows out that will catapult people into the spotlight these days. It's easy to become 'famous' via Twitter, or YouTube. It's not hard to become a Z-Lister anymore. Anybody and everybody seems to have an agent or management these days.
I remember when Channel 4 aired a couple of special episodes prior to the premiere of Big Brother one year, which gave us an insight into the contestants auditioning and the genuine set of rounds that they were put through, before then being shoved in a fake Diary Room for a conversation with Big Brother. We'd never see anything like that now.
