It could have worked,Kinnock commanded a lot of respect in the Labour party and perhaps Ed's ideals were more founded on his than Blair's.
Kinnock didn't get the full reward and credit for the way he transformed the Labour party.

Blair turned it into a milder form of the Conservative party and that is something I would hate the Labour party to try to do again.

He was a great politician and for me it was a toxic personal campaign that did for him and not anything that he was proposing, similar to what's happened now strangely.

Well if supporting Labour Kizzy is being left of centre,red or militant, then that is where,(1), I am happy to be now and,(2),quite frankly where I would rather be anyway.

I think from all I have heard from my Dad and also from things he has as to publications from the time, Kinnock may have had it worse than Ed Miliband,not only Neil Kinnock himself but even more disgustingly as to his Wife Glenys too.

I have also met the Kinnock's they are really fantastic,caring people.

Neil Kinnock when he makes a speech too, goes on and on and on, I admire that.
Now I wonder why that is.

My dad liked Kinnock too, he seemed from what I remember a very rousing and genuine person.
I'm so happy his son followed him into politics and look forward to seeing you both rise through the ranks hopefully one day
I'd rather listen to someone go on and on with a can do attitude it is what I admired too in Ed rather than the harping back doom and gloom perpetuation of fear we have.
Hopefully one day we will have that back.

To answer the OP. I take voting very personally. It needs to be something that can be kept private and personal because that is what keeps it democratic. Of course it doesn't have to be, but people are pressured all the time, and it has never been worse than in these times of social media. It therefore must be every persons right to keep the information private

I think politics is akin to religion, in the sense that I would never try to force my beliefs on anyone else. If asked, I would discuss politics, but wouldn't take it personally if my family, friends disagreed with my choices.

When it comes to UKIP I do based on their views on LGBT rights. But if it's any other party it doesn't bother me.
