It makes a complete mockery of the show, and pretty much made the first 2 weeks pointless.
I thought the original cast were amongst the worst as a job lot, that had ever been on the show. I think the reason for that in hindsight is that they were much to savvy on ways to play the game. It needed to be shaken up, because the viewer ship would have died to nothing without it.
