It's pretty damn obvious that what he pointed out was in support of Sam and women in general, saying that they shouldn't do anything cause she'd be looked down upon while he would be lauded. This would be obvious to anyone not blinded by their hatred for Marc.

For the record I'm one of the most anti-religious people on this forum. But nice assumption anyway.
