It's just a token byword for "I'm here because I want to be here", and I totally respect it. Stripping away all of the spirituality and nonsense the public seem desperate to attach to the phrase, all it really means is that he doesn't have to be a performing monkey for someone as relentlessly "dramatic" and "honest" as Helen/Marc.
Because whilst I'm sure Cristian/Chloe don't match up to their expectations of entertainment, they're just fine for me. I want to watch normal people make normal social interactions, not a pack of hyenas barking at each other because a producer's thrown in another "say something nasty about that bitch across the room" twist.
