Even though he could easily have grown some balls, kicked up enough fuss and the nom would have had to be changed, ala the fuss he made about Danny being up.
He isn't half losing his mr nice guy image. I didnt really watch BB8 but the impression I gbot was that he was one of the ones who won by being 'nice' (and acted a bit stupid)
In his quest to come across the hero, he is destroying his image. Especially given he is chosing the most ridiculous things to start crap over.
