Yes, that's a good way of putting it..he tries way too hard to fit in sometimes which makes him come across as fake.
I don't feel sorry for him, his personality could have gone one of two ways and he chose the more negative side..plus if he isn't enjoying himself he knows where the door is!!

I don't see him as fake compared to someone like Cristian with the fake accent and the not saying anything for weeks and then this weird tough and up front business. Where he was actually seeking things out to be out spoken about, you know? Where as with Jack i think most of how he acts is genuine, it may be against how he claims to be personality wise but most of us act differently to how we view ourselves, no one wants to think they have negative qualities
