Actually Helen was doing very well this time last year on facebook and twitter. There was definitely a late surge.
If anything Ashleigh's support is much more similar to Joel's and I suspect Joel is not nearly as heavily supported as Ashleigh was. Joel's popularity seems to me to be based on Marc's supporters looking for someone to get behind, but I doubt people who like Marc bother voting much, especially when it's second choice.
