#191 - Amy Alexandra (BB8)


It is common knowledge that all of the halfway-housemates with the improbable exception of Kara-Louise (and Munkety Tunkety) sucked. Hard. Amy was the least messy of the bunch but at the expense of a personality. The UK lad-mags culture was at its peak around 2007 so the desperate attempt to chuck her in and hope for the best with her tits was painfully obvious, and even then she looks like an unfortunate cross between Rebecca Adlington and a shovel.

She tried for a showmance with Liam in full knowledge that the fans, let alone the entire world, were already bored to tears with keeping up with Ziggy and Chanelle, and aside from a handful of the usual highlights this calibre of housemate gets (naked jacuzzi moment! lesbian kiss!) all she really did was fall victim to the obvious "well the original housemates are never going to not-nominate her" edit. I suppose I could say the same for Sam but she WAS LOVELY AND WILL WIN THIS IN THE END GODDAMNIT.

I save Belo because he actually did stuff in this series I suppose

GEORGE ASKEW - BB7, 19th place

George entered on launch night as the token posh young male of the series who is usually loved around these parts, however he was destined to flop at all angles. From his VT we learnt that apparently he had some connection to the royal family, and he loves to do all that stereotypical posh stuff like hunting and cherishing the countryside, yawning yet? In the house, he had a close friendship with Grace and the lads and a semi-showmance/will they-won't they with Nikki who he quickly turned on and trashed in his last few days in the house as she didn't stay in his bed one night. He also had an altering lisp and was an *individual* when he stayed in the room with Shahbaz when everyone walked out. Also it was speculated a lot that George was gay due to Nikki's poor hearing skills

After two weeks in the show, George seemed more and more bored of the place and told the others he wanted to leave, with the excuse that "he didn't want the fame" leaving the plastics in meltdown as they had lost a member. Despite not wanting fame, he reappeared at the finale and had an awkward chat with Davina.

Josie Gibson - BB11:



Josie is one of those housemates that outstayed their welcome. She entered first on launch and seemed to be this sweet country girl which fans seem to go crazy for her not just here in the UK but worldwide when it comes to BB and she just was pretty boring to start off with anyway. BB made her the heroine however somehow in it's head gave her a hefty wedge of highlights usually as it seemed they really really wanted this girl to win! Josie was just pretty vanilla for me and didn't do much for me. She was annoying and she she sucked her thumb but she didn't offend me that much I could take her or leave her.

Then came the worst showmance in the history of showmances. JJJ, okay it was pretty disgusting put it that way. The public however lapped up this showmance like showmances were going out of fashion. John-James saw the chance to attach himself to this small town girl who was plump and the type of girl you wouldn't expect someone as hot as crab eyes to go for. They went through this stage of will they/won't they for pretty much half of the series and then they'd have an argument nearly every day over something which was blown out of proportion but they'd be BFFs again come tea time.

I guess Josie didn't contribute much to BB11 for me and her win being cleared for her by producers still makes me angry to this day. Why were they so obsessed with this frumpy boring Somerset girl who was involved in a tedious showmance? I still don't know. Josie did have like one time where she stuck up for Corin against John-James but usually she sit back and let him rip into housemate by housemate and say pretty much nothing. Josie coasted her way to the final and to this day is probably still one of the worst winners.

I final pass Queen Sallie Axl because she's the second best C5 era housemate and bcos you're a snake every time I see you I'm going to go ssss and because high street

Bex Shiner

Bex was probably one of the biggest letdowns of BB history although granted she did have her moments. However most of her highlights are dominated by her getting drunk and getting naked in the pool, throwing tantrums in the jail and burning the chips.

I have to say this won't be completely one sided because she was great in the first few weeks when her bubbly character was raw and fresh but it very quickly wore off. In Week 4 she faced eviction against Mario and stayed making her seem like the major favourite to win inside the house. This meant that the 'Bex machine' was ramped up massively. This involved more drunken activites including kissing Luke, smothering Luke and kissing someone over the divide (Kate and Spencer hew?).

She is also best known for striking up a showmance with Luke although they didn't do anything inside the house and it was mainly for the magazines afterwards as they were certainly marketable as an unlikely couple (I would have shipped freaky Darnell and Bex tbh).

Come her eviction everyone left in the Whispers club were so sure that Mohammed or Darnell was going to go over obvious fan favourite Bex. So imagine the shock when Bex Shiner is evicted with over 60% of the vote!

After the show Bex and Luke's showmance went from magazine to magazine for about a year and Bex became a porn star and shades her appearance on BBUK regularly? About as messy has her now non-existent Jedward tattoo.

Jack McDermott (BB16)



Tbh, despite the series just finishing a few weeks ago I don't really have much to say on Jack (also I only watched bits and pieces from the post-Aisleyne weeks). I just wanted to cut someone from BB16, which is seriously an awful series and for me the worst series BBUK has had to offer to date.

Anyway I remember that Jack was a launch night fave and I despised him early on because he was so annoying with his 'Pieface' shtick, Pieface has to be the worst nickname ever created right? And he also had some weird fear of the women (apart from Chloe), like I remember when he freaked out on when Amy threw a cup at the diary room door and it was really gross, even more gross because everyone seemed to be OK with it.

Then the public started to turn on Jack like they did with other launch night favos such as Wolfy and Pauline and production were quite clearly were trying to go for a downfall storyline and I can see Emma saying during his eviction interview "you should have taken the car >" but this never happened and I was glad because production deserved to be punished for their crimes against television during BB16. I guess I was kinda rooting for him towards the end of the series but not really because I was so apathetic towards everything and just wanted it to end and be erased from our memories. Also I loved the fact Jack got buried in the edit every Friday yet he still never got evicted lol

So that's Jack! Not a very interesting person nor a very good housemate but despite hating him at the beginning he got better later on (perhaps just in comparison to Marc and Helen) and he was actually my second fave in the final lol what an awful set of finalists.

Edit: Also I forgot to mention in the beginning I hated his entitlement and the fact he acted like it was his house but in hindsight I can forgive him for this since he was told by production that he was the winner at like day 3. btw lol @ this write up becoming more about my hate for production, shows how interesting Jack is tbh.

Ashleigh Hughes



Sorry for the delay guys, I've been out a lot this week believe it or not.

Anyway, Ashleigh Hughes, I don't actually dislike her that much so I'll start by saying she came in, was rather hilarious on launch, then tuned into a background character who only popped up to bitch with what little vocabulary she had, mainly about Lauren or Deana, which didn't do her any favours as these two were the public's favourites. Ashleigh also had a showmance with one Luke Scrase known as 'Lughleigh' on forums and social media, which was hilarious if only for Ashleigh dragging his penis size because he crossed his legs and saying she wouldn't care if Luke was evicted Ashleigh was evicted in the semi final after getting more votes to save than Scott and Becky (seriously who voted for her?) and left to some boos. Harrowing.
