Sounds like a good idea in theory but would it work?

I applaud him, but hope that he employs a thoroughly efficient vetting procedure so that genuine refugees benefit and not opportunists. It now needs a hundred or more of the world's wealthiest people to follow his lead.

If thats the end result
as he would build Factorys
for them to Earn Cash,
I say its still Good and better than the mess now.

Infact his ships
could bring in Pre-made homes - built in a day.
so all that work on the new 4 story homes
have a proper homes

So this island... what about the people who already live there? What happens to them? Their homeland gets sold out from under them and suddenly it's repopulated and they're foreigners in their own country. And if it's not an inhabited island, he has a whole infrastructure to build... roads, sewers, drainage, power, telecoms, hospitals, schools, houses... who's going to police it? It sounds like Sim City for a very rich man. An altruistic idea but ultimately unworkable.

Yeah, it's a nice idea but the logistics of it would be too much to handle.

Why doesn't he donate it to the same fund as David Cameron is givng a million quid to.
Maybe think of making some decent safe places in Egypt for them.

I doubt it would be a hostile colonial style takeover like America or Australia, a brave new world, don't we all want that?

This idea worked so well in Israel, I'm surprised no one has come up with it before...

Even if this happened, they'd have a lot of work to do before anyone could go there... and would they be classed as citizens of Italy or Greece or would it be an independent country or what? Nice gesture but who knows if that would ever work...

NO Z

you are wrong
many would go there with
Temp cabins to help build homes.

With Big Money and Big Ships
Homes 4 Storey High can be built faster
than you making shortbread

Any attempt to do so is much preferable to surrendering ours Adam - in my opinion.

..it is odd that if he has the money to do this then why choose something so complicated that may not be workable, rather than help in a more 'now' way as the crisis is now ..I presume he has a great 'solving ability' as he's made so much money in his life, but this seems like such a complicated 'solve' for him to come up with...
