Well, there was a difference between the reaction because the situations were entirely different. There's a difference between having a wild, unprovoked rant in which you threaten violence for no reason whatsoever (though of course I don't believe he would have ever actually done it), and saying you'd attack someone
if they assaulted your pet (again, I fail to believe she actually would but frankly, would anyone blame someone for doing so? I certainly wouldn't).
