And i'm now very capable to make most meals from scratch, i'm always trying new recipes, and my family love my home cooked meals

Yeah my mom only taught me the basics as well but I think once you're confident with basic cooking, you'll be confident following any recipe

Some stuff - but not a lot, really, I had to be taught how to make scrambled eggs at uni by a flatmate But I experimented more than I was taught, and now if I want to learn to make something I'll use YouTube tutorials or recipes.

Trial and error Ruby ... same
I'm getting a bit of a food snob now if I'm honest, 'out of a packet dahling?! oh no way!'
And yes it's lovely when they say it's nicer than the brand leaders

Both my girls are terrible food snobs

I'd rather know what they're eating, rather than give them foods that contain ingredients that i can't even pronounce!

My mum didn't teach me to cook as such but I would always talk to her whilst she was cooking and so kind of picked things up from watching her. I'm not very adventurous though....if I want fancy, I'll go out to eat or my best friend is an amazing cook so I invite myself to hers
