I think serial killers from places like America will always get more attention because it's just more shocking for us because the it is such a rich country with the FBI and here Scotland Yard etc

..yeah, you're right actually Amy..some probably don't get the media coverage to catch our attention as others do and obviously lots are way before you or I were on earth so we wouldn't know about them all, even some who had killed hundreds of people...

I find this so fascinating. I always wonder what makes someone became a serial killer. I think their upbringing plays a big part.

Miss World is NOT the most beautiful woman in the world. She is just the one voted as such from those vain enough, ambitious enough, or stupid enough to enter. There are thousands of much more beautiful women in the world who just do NOT enter. They remain unknown.

Every town and city has its 'infamous'hard-cases - men who are stupid enough, or immature enough to engage in 'fighting' in public bars and clubs enabling themselves to become 'local' legends. These fools are NOT the 'hardest men in these towns and cities they are just the ones who have become 'known'. There are harder men cuddling their children at home or going about their lives in a mature, decent way. They remain unknown.

Similarly, the 'Serial Killers' above are NOT - in all probability - the world's worst. They are just the ones who became infamous through BEING CAUGHT.

With a child going missing in the USA every 40 SECONDS and 2,300 adults and children missing every day, it is odds on that there are even worse, more prolific Serial Killers who have not yet been caught.

Yeah I've always thought this too. And I agree with upbringing.

I learned about all of this in Sociology and Psychology back in school and how inadequate socialization can affect someones behavior. Of course there are many other factors too.
