It would only have been a U-turn really though if he had come out saying it was an amazing idea that would fully be supported and then announce he wouldn't. Josh, read the article and the events as they happened. Each time I have responded to you, its been because your excuses don't match the events laid out in the article. The statement was made by the shadow chancellor at labours annual conference.

Its a clear U-turn and a pretty bloody awful one at that
