i can't believe you have Ray of Light so low, but your 2 favorite albums are Music and American Life...
To me, i've always thought of Ray of Light, Music, and American Life as a Trilogy, because they all have such a similar sound. I consider all three of those albums as part of an ERA, and it's definitely my favorite era.
the same way i think Erotica and Bedtime Stories were connected, because they had such similar styles. they seemed like a double disk album, just separated by time. and i loved how at the end of Bedtime Stories, the final track, Bedtime Story was giving a hint to the new electronic style madonna wanted to move into. Bedtime Story sounded nothing like anything she did before, but it did give a huge clue to the new progressive electronic madonna to come, the end of the r'n'b era madonna of the 90s.
