No point searching everyone to the nnth degree outbound if the inbound isn't as rigourous, if it was a bomb the Egyptians need to let the world know how it got there and why their security failed.

This will just happen more and more now that Russia have took a hard stand against terrorism, History will repeat itself no doubt though, the down fall of the Nazi was underestimating the Soviet Union and biting of more the they could chew in Stalingrad and Moscow, the downfall of Isis or whoever is responsible will be exactly the same and you will do well to remember that LostAlex, 80% of the soviets died for your freedom and Putin's Russia will do the same for you so show some bloody respect

WRONG. 80% of the soviets died trying to conquer Europe, and they conquered most of eastern Europe, the only reason western Europe wasn't completely conquered by the Soviets was because of the USA.

The Soviets never freed anyone from the Nazis, they were stealing more land for themselves the whole time.

What a warped view of history. The USA as I recall only entered the war after they got hit at Pearl harbour. More Russian lives were lost in WW2 than of any other country. They died fighting as the Nazi's were rolling their war machine in to Moscow.

Yea, and they only started fighting the Nazi;s when they got attack too! so how can you blame the USA for not getting involved earlier when nighter did the Soviets.. you are sounding like such a hypocrite right now.

And unlike the Soviets, after the USA freed a european country we let them govern themselves, unlike the Soviets which just ate up countries and forced them to be soviet states.

The Egyptian president is coming here... Why is he coming here?

Save for later
Hundreds of protesters have gathered in Whitehall to express anger at David Cameron’s decision to welcome the Egyptian president, Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, to Downing Street.

Sisi is due to arrive in the UK to hold talks with the British prime minister on security cooperation at Number 10 on Thursday, despite being accused of a catalogue of human rights abuses since leading an army coup in July 2013.

At a noisy protest in Whitehall, a crowd consisting mainly of Egyptian emigrants – some who had travelled from as far away as Spain – expressed their anger at the invitation to the former army chief.

Maha Azzam, head of the Egyptian Revolutionary Council, told the crowd: “What we have here is a big no to Sisi and prime minister Cameron for his invitation to a despot and a killer. We stand here today to say ‘Shame on you Cameron’. Not in the name of the honourable British people. Not in the name of the Egyptian people ...

“He [Sisi] has no legitimacy in the eyes of the British people. The free Egyptian people reject Sisi ... The message is loud and clear, no to fascism, no to military dictatorship.”

We need people that we can work with in that area of the world. We may not like how they behave, but its just one aspect. We should have learned that in Iraq and Libya

The point is, this jet CVOULD have made it all the way to Russia, and blown up in the airport and caused even more damage. killed not only everyone on board, but also everyone at the boarding gate, and also destroyed the entire gate of the airport. But of course Russians will never admit that they have any security vulnerabilities. Russians of course are too strong and perfect for anything thing like that to be possible. LOL

This is a thread about the very sad fact that more than 200 RUSSIAN people lost their lives, which now looks like it was by terrorist act. It is difficult to see how that can be turned in to Russian hate, but here we are. Ridiculous

The breach of security was at Sharm, I don't know why you are lolling, if this were a plane load of Americans you wouldn't be blaming America for this, innocents returning from a beach holiday who didn't deserve to die no matter what nationality they were.

Next time a plane full of Americans crashes for whatever reason, I will come on here and start saying how much they deserved it because America is an evil, corrput wicked regime.....

Your comments re this tragedy show no remorse for the poor innocent people who lost their lives, you prefer instead to score cheap political points about Russia etc...

This is still a human tragedy regardless of what nationality these people were.

Kudos to our government who have taken the step of suspending flights to and from Sharm, pain in the ass for anyone out there who is ready to come home but from reports I heard this morning their airport security and checking leaves a ot to be required. A guy was interviewed this morning who goes out there regularly diving who said dive knives have been allowed in hand luggage, and it is quite common for litre bottles of spirits to be let through on hand luggage, the only question is why it has taken so long for the terrorists to take advantage of this laxness and someone else who said it was quite easy for someone to go around the queue and walk straight into departures.

Was it a mistake or a coincidence it happened in sharm then, or does it have some significance?

If they're annoyed at Putin for bombing I bet they're just as annoyed at us... I think they have more than a suspicion we're the next target.
