Perhaps the fact that he is alive may prove useful? They might be able to get information from him regarding other terrorists and planned attacks (without torture of course, that would be inhumane)

Why on earth would we want that, blown to bits in the middle of a tube station surrounded by passengers is what's needed here, and then disposed of in a public televised celebration that will definitely not incite more violence
