Default Corbyn Shadow Cabinet Reshuffle

Jeremy Corbyn is starting talks with shadow cabinet members as part of a reshuffle, a Labour source has said.

The intention is for the new line-up to be announced on Tuesday, although the process could take several days.

Mr Corbyn is reportedly considering replacing some shadow ministers who disagree with his policies.

BBC political editor Laura Kuenssberg said she did not expect a "very dramatic purge" of Mr Corbyn's top team in the next 24 hours.

It would be "more a shuffle than lots of moderates being shoved out", she said, although new shadow foreign and defence secretaries are expected to be appointed.

The current shadow cabinet is divided on issues including Trident renewal and military intervention in Syria.

Shadow foreign secretary Hilary Benn backed air strikes in last month's Commons vote, but Mr Corbyn opposed them.

----

I predict this will pave the way for a splitting of the labour party into 2 parties. It can't possibly be realistic to have a reshuffle so soon after him becoming leader

I'll wait and see what he actually does, that is if he even does anything of note, before I speculate.

Just about the non event of the year already.
The media full of this and that purge and then all that happens is nothing of any note at all, just some minor alterations to be likely made.

Nice one Corbyn.

Pat McFadden has also been removed now and Maria Eagle moved aside.

I think Corbyn is entitled to have whoever he wants in his cabinet. What is interesting to me is the sub plot underneath it and the large fracture that is clear within the labour party. It is unsustainable

He dare'nt get rid of Benn.God knows how it will work though.Either Hilary has been muzzled and has to 'no comment' when asked his opinion or Corbyn is hoping he resigns on the Trident vote when it is whipped,Corbyn won't make the mistake of another free vote on that issue.
Thornberry replacing Eagle due to her Trident views.

So Der Fuhrer consolidates his position by removing all those who oppose his lunatic stance on Terrorism, the UK's Security, and our DEMOCRATICALLY chosen Foreign Policy.

What of 'Free Speech', 'Honesty', and 'Free Will' now? Do these qualities only apply to Der Fuhrer Corbyn to justify his fraternising with Terrorists, his description of them as 'friends', his illogical and unpatriotic objection to singing our National anthem and the wearing of a poppy as a sign of respect to all those patriots who sacrificied THEIR lives so this miserable traitor could have the freedom to perpetrate his sinister policy against this country?

I do not care what ANY Corbyn supporters on here, or anywhere else for that matter say, this treacherous weasel is a disgrace, and the longer he reigns as Leader of the Labour Party, the more irreparable damage he will cause to it.

Should he endure and triumph, it will not only be the end of the Labour Party as we know it, but the UK itself.

Why are they resigning? Hilary will cling on till he's pushed and it doesn't look like that's about to happen, what a silly thing to do.

I agree with this 100%.
Not only is it exposing the massive problems within the labour party itself but it is also showing the uk exactly why they are unelectable, they really are such a shambolic mess.

The Labour party, and I am sure no one who knows the make up of political parties will not know this anyway,is in effect and has been for many decades really 4 parties in one.
They always have disagreements and have always had leaders that sections of the Party have never liked or waned to work with.

Two main stalwarts of the party for example,I recall reading about when studying politics,James Callaghan and Barbara Castle had strong disagreements, as she did with Harold Wilson when campaigning for a no vote in the 1975 while a Cabinet Minister herself.

What annoys me is the undercurrents of getting at Corbyn as leader by those huffed because they didn't get the leader they preferrered themselves.
Because of them I feel the UK citizens are being very badly served by MPs in parliament except for the SNP MPs.

This govt is getting away with shocking unjust and non compassionate actions against the most vulnerable with a tiny majority in parliament.
As on PMQs today, the laughing and contempt by some Conservative MPs at a question on people due to the floods losing homes, possessions and even in some cases their livelihoods, with their leader spouting off in another direction with Shakespeare titles was a disgrace n my view.

Then we have Labour the main opposition, being huffy with each other and running away bawling because some of them cannot get their own way, when they should be fighting the real political foe, the Conservatives and fighting for those unable to stand up for themselves from their voting public.

I doubt the UK has ever had such a bad lot of senior positions in govt and in opposition too and they need to grow up, stop being petty, work together for the good of all and get on with being valuable and decent representatives for all their constituents.
I am really fed up of the farce PMQs is, it the worst it has ever been with this PM and also the backbiting and nonsense some Labour MPs seem to be hell bent on to do all during Corbyn's leadership.
