If I'm not that significant don't pull up my posts because you want a argument.

I think about more realistic things then paying a small visa charge on my next holiday

I'm sure everyone has weighed up both sides of the arguments and we all have to pick one side but please don't come on the attack because others are voting out when you want in.
The only person on the attack is you, I don't care how you vote. I'm just pointing out that your reasoning is flawed.

Literally everything you've accused me of applies more to you than me.

Hmm it really doesn't you can't accuse me of one thing then when I give my reasons call them irreverent and keep accusing and I was not the only poster who you did that too

We didn't need a visa to travel anywhere in Europe prior to officially opening up our borders and that's very unlikely to change if we exit Europe

It has been asked on many political programmes as to the possibility of needing visas if we were to leave the EU.

We have always been a member of the EU,in fact we helped form the current EU as it is, with all we helped set up and agree to, and then the treaties both our major parties in govt have signed over the last 20+ years.

So what was there before in the very early 70s,way before even the EU was set up in its current form, is all changed.
They could I guess make it that visas are needed if we leave, or it may be as many have said that travel to and from Europe will cost more for the UK in other ways after leaving.

I guess a lot will depend on what all the other EU Nations feel and are prepared to accommodate the UK on,should the UK vote to leave.
Another uncertainty unfortunately.

EU members don't need a visa to travel to Norway or Switzerland so why would the UK be treated differently, you might need to apply to a work visa but not necessarily

Its a relatively short time since we had the free travel agreement that is in place now ... maybe 15-20 years? Prior to that, there was no visa required.

Absolutely Livia.

I shall be voting 'out' also.

However,Norway and Switzerland to trade with the EU also accept and agree to the free movement of EU citizens so that criteria is filled.

I didn't say there would be visas but we are actually talking, (at least some brexit people are), of possibly having visas for certain EU countries if we leave.

So it is not impossible if we don't still accept the free movement of EU citizens that in some way visas 'could' not 'will' be introduced by the EU to us and even from us to the EU or some Nations in the EU.

There isn't total free movement to Norway though if you look at the government website you can travel to Norway for six months but after that there may be some visa requirement, I'd imagine the UK would adopt a similar, just putting it out there that the UK going out doesn't automatically mean no visa less trips

A lot will depend on what the other 27 EU Nations decide as to their view of the UK walking away from the EU.
Whatever deal we get with the EU will have to be agreed by the remaining 27 Nations.
obviously some will be warmer to the UK than others but a lucrative solid trading deal is not certain and that is the thing for me, we have no idea a this time really what conditions, the EU will want to place on the UK as to trading with them.

It seems even from the out side here, even they cannot tell us what is the actual deal we should be seeking.
Norway and Switzerland have never been in the EU but still have to in part or fully accept free movement of EU citizens.

I know I keep saying this but we helped the formation of the EU as it is now,our govts signed up to the treaties brought forward.
What Nations left in the EU will make of us marching off after doing that and signing up to everything except the euro.
We will not know that until we have left.

The EU will have to put as its first consideration, the wishes and will of all those 27 Nations left,I'd guess fro most of those Nations their priority for sure will not be to fall over and really assist the UK that much, since the UK is the one who will have chosen to walk away after agreeing and signing up to everything except as to joining the euro.
