The USA are fans of super long jail sentences with the highest prison population per capita in the world but it obviously doesnt act as a deterrent but it is a good money spinner though as prisons in the USA run by companys earn $74billion a year for incarcerating people.
Prison = profit in the USA good ol capitalism at its finest.

I agree and the alarming thing is, our prison systems are slowly being turned over to the private sector too
