Ah yes, that's the one. Still, I do think there is a difference between being lonely and feeling lonely, because feeling lonely might not always depict that you are lonely. That's what makes this thread confusing, because both terms are used in the OP

lonely is a feeling though so being lonely and feeling lonely would mean the same thing, wouldn't it? Being alone is being on your own, being lonely is how you feel

you are only lonely really if you are used to company, and it disappears, otherwise its just normal. One of my pet hates is people saying make sure the old folks are not lonely at Christmas, It misses the complete point.

I think in the case of older people though it's a bit different. I see it in my father in law. He was always happier on his own, doing his own thing but the older he gets, he's not able to do what he used to do before to keep himself occupied and so he seems to want contact with people more now because i would imagine boredom breeds loneliness for alot of elderly people

I remember the old days fondly when i could have s D.I.P. at least once a week.

A D.I.P. = a day in pants usually a Sunday when i sit at home all day watching footy and movies all day and dont even bother getting dressed or leaving the house. Eating junk food and loving every second of it. How i cherish those memories.

Obviously i wouldn't trade my family for anything but I do crave some alone time every once in a while too. The last time I had a full day and night to myself at home was 2 years ago......I enjoyed it so much too

it really depends on the type of personality a person has. Some people can easily fill their days with trivia, others need much much more. I don't honestly think loneliness is anything other than a short term thing. Depression which i think is actually the real issue, is a different thing of course

when I suffered impotence , i got lost in a period of loneliness, loathe to get back with the same girl. the moment we rejoined , we had some quality love making,it was back from the doldrums. what a strange place that was, she felt she wasnt turning me on and I felt she wasnt understanding enough.....thankfully my member is not full steam ahead and my mojo is back ...woof
