I'm not "angry" about any of it.I agree i dont think anyone should be banned from anything based on sex,Apart from changing rooms and public toilets.

And proffessional sports should be segregated due to men having an advantage.

Tradition I guess, the vote was defeated by 14 votes so not all were in favour of keeping it as it is, vote again in 5 years I expect the rules will change, I don't really see the issue here it's not like women can't play golf or become members elsewhere, storm in a teacup, there really are bigger issues in the world

its a club, and there are rules for joining the club. Its their loss at the end of the day, not just from being excluded from the Open. Their golf club loses its prestige status, which for many of the members will be the reason they joined ... Its tied to the snobbery thing .... The way i see it is,If women were allowed to join too,If the blokes want to play together with their mates then what's stopping them?Or the women want to play with their girlfriends.Or if one day they want to go as a family they could.

Excluding women from anything these days just gives the feminists ammunition.This country is more equal than it has ever been and in many areas now it favours women more.If men want our inequalities to be taken seriously then rules to exclude women in any parts of society except where men are obviously more suited or vice versa need to be stamped out.If we are to have true equality.
