Israel is so-called "Jewish and Democratic state" (which is quite an absurd oxymoron), it's mostly jewish because of its historical-biblical narrative (and being the sanctuary for holocaust survivors, like my grandparents).
Even in Israel, which is jewish-biased, the issue of labeling it formally as a nationality is quite a controversial one.
As a result, the nationality in our IDs is "******" (yep, asterisks).
I'm, btw, an atheist (although my roots are jewish and some may want to consider me as such).
