To say that this isn't a gun control issue is a bit ignorant, the shooter was a US citizen and I'd bet money that the gun was acquired legally because that's the case most of the time. Tightening gun laws won't get rid of gun crime but it will certainly reduce the amount of massacres occur in the US. Look at the UK, in 26 years of being alive there's only been two major shooting incidents that I can recall happening here. Australia tightened gun laws in the 90's after a massacre and I don't think there's been another major shooting in Australia since.
Unfortunately tighter gun controls will never be an option in America due to how profitable the industry is.
