I disagree with your first comment- the exact reason why they are moaning about him and moving away
is because he's bothering them!
I think the aggression he has displayed makes people wary of telling him because he is unpredictable, and they are unsure of how he will react.
Discussing our feelings with others, is a way of understanding them before we feel able to express them sometimes. And sometimes we need a bit of time and thinking things through so that when we do tell someone it can be expressed in a tactful and sensitive way. Maybe that's what's happening here?
