..oh Lord, don't get me started on that one...and the road that I travel on out of the village which has a cycling and pedestrian lane running all of the way through/alongside... has very few passing/overtaking places because it's such a narrow, winding country road.. and the few over-taking spots that there are, aren't great or ideal either...so it's extremely unsafe to be cycling on such roads ..and the cycling lane is just there..LOOK I CAN PUT MY HAND OUT OF THE CAR WINDOW AND TOUCH IT...
