On the education thing, I think that could be explained because generally isn't it the people on lower incomes who felt more disillusioned with the current system? And obviously there'd be a link between less education - lower paid jobs. So I don't think it's necessarily a simple case of the more intelligent people knew best, it's just that the more educated and less educated will have differing priorities in life, generally.
