Since he completely lost his fear, Father Gabe has been the most hardcore character on the show. Straight up terrifying . Negan probably has absolutely no idea what to make of him. He realises that he doesn't scare him, but it's not in a brave / defiant / standing up to him way like with Carl... he's not challenging Negan... he's just calm and unphased. What do you do with that? And then, yeah, the reason that Rick isn't able to stand up and fight is because he is emotionally all over the place. Maybe Gabriel can pass on a bit of that zen to Rick so that he can do something.

I have no idea why they ever choose Rick as the leader anyway, he's crap, he already had one breakdown when they got to the prison and now he's just thrown the towel in and is Negans bitch. Should have stuck with Shane

Thing is though, it sometimes feels like Rick actually knows all of that too. There was a moment in maybe season 4(?) where he basically realised that Shane was more cut out for surviving in that world than he ever was and he ironically became "more like Shane"... after insisting that Shane's ruthlessness was dangerous and partly using it as justification for killing him.

But it doesn't come naturally to him, hence periodically losing his ****.

Yeah same, I really love her. Probably her, Daryl and Carol are my favourites. I need Daryl to snap out of his Negan comma soon though.

I think it's showing us just how unbelievably stressful Ricks job is.He has had the role of leader for a long time and it's taken its toll on him.I think even Shane(as ruthless as he was) would've struggled.He was emotionally unstable too.Rick always bounces back no matter how low he gets so he is strong in that respect.Many people maybe wouldn't have had his resilience.It's quite good i think that it's showing us his journey and it will make him stronger.Negan has pushed further than anyone else and has almost broken him but if Rick pulls through it then he will be a bad ass.He is keeping them alive atm when they're on the back foot.Maybe another leader would fight back at the wrong moment and get them all killed.

omg Carl pointing a gun at Negan's men, for a minute i thought Negan was going to kill him, but i personally don't think Negan is a really bad guy, he's just trying to survive with his group, with their own rules and laws, and i rather be on Negan's good side than his bad side


i got this hunch or gut feeling that Gregory and Jesus aren't really people you can trust

I loved Shane as a character but I really don't think he'd have been a good leader. He was too unstable and frankly only cared about Lori and Carl. If you weren't one of those two, you'd have to be insane to willingly follow him knowing he'd willingly sacrifice you at the first chance. He was also way too hot-headed, he'd lead his people into danger more often than away from it.

He was probably a fine leader before Rick returned but since then it was a downward spiral.

I disagree I think all the events that have been layered on Rick it's more realistic that he suffers a crisis of confidence, I like that he is being portrayed as human and not some super hero

I think Shane is hotter and would have been a better leader too. If I was basing my favourites on who i think is the hottest then Negan would be my favourite character right now
