(Promoting Tracey would completely ruin her legacy as an extra)

This descent of Roxy's could have been a well written plot like the majority of Lee's but it's so haphazard and rushed.
Now she's randomly buying coke because her daughter doesn't want makeup and she'll no doubt be high at Ronnie's wedding and fall in a pool. What an insulting exit. |

Not to mention the few times Tracey speaks are wooden as fuq.
Shrimpy might be able to act?

if they are going to kill the Mitchell sisters and most likely Lee they should have had a big disaster episode and killed a few other unneeded characters off

We never really see her struggle or explore her issues with dealing with stuff like Dean. We either get stories where it's all about how Roxy's behaviour is affecting Ronnie (the other Mitchell's or Kat and Alfie) and the story becomes about them or it's just a matter of fact she randomly does things and then vanishes for weeks. I'm not saying it's an out of character route for them to take her. I just think they could've explored it and fleshed it out a bit more. Especially if this is to be the final ending for the character. All feels rather cut and paste at the moment. I'd accept SOC's "down to earth" approach as a reason if their highly likely exit story wasn't so preposterous and silly. Last edited by Marsh.; 16-12-2016 at 11:17 PM. |

Yeah. I must ask, despite her being on the show for almost ten years, do we know much about Roxy's life growing up and why she's ended up the way she is? I do think that Santer invested wayyyy too much time in Ronnie and her background, and merely used Roxy as a device to broaden Ronnie's story.

We literally know nothing about Roxy except she was always jealous of Ronnie.

Then even when Ronnie left she became nothing more than an extra. The more I think about it the more I believe Ronnie should've died NYD 2015 and then given Roxy some time in the spotlight to grieve her, have Glenda come back for a bit, see Roxy try to help Charlie bring up Ronnie's baby etc before she left herself. |

I think it kind of makes sense for her to be a bit erratic especially now it's a year since Dean, but it's a bit of a shame really that she'll go down as this messy drug-fuelled sex-obsessed Essex girl when she actually changed so much when Ronnie left (like when she was engaged to Alfie, arguably her best era).

Oh yeah it's in character, but if we'd seen it a bit more (like we have with Lee and how his troubles spiralled) on screen I'd feel more invested and appreciate it more as the character's final story.
At the minute it's not much of a story but a series of scenes leading to a random incident on NYD.

But she's never been a bad mum. She's had hard times and been a bit forgetful and foolish, but she brought up Amy on her own. Jack was away for years. Since Jack's return Roxy has sort of given up (or been shown as a terrible mum) and that's very unlike her.

But I do scream at Roxy showing up to work for five minutes and then going to the cafe for the rest of the morning. Goals.

Wanting Ronnie to adopt her daughter is completely nonsense to me. Especially whoever wrote that exchange tonight with her telling Ronnie her mistakes as a mother were never as bad as Roxy's. Erm, RONNIE KIDNAPPED SOMEONE ELSE'S CHILD AND SERVED TWO YEARS IN PRISON. She also drove away her third child's father and banned him from visitation rights. But apparently Charlie doesn't exist now, Dot never even mentions him. |

Jack's just been awful. I just don't understand his motives behind showing up randomly on the square, getting back into bed with Ronnie after a week, proposing within a month then whisking away three of his children, all with different mothers, 30 minutes down the road for a "new life" whilst developing a strong hatred for Roxy who cared for his child on her own when he couldn't.

Jack was just brought back to keep the Brannings alive, I hope he's sidelined now Max (a genuinely good character) is back

I think he was brought back for Ronnie by DTC.
But obviously SOC now has other plans.

DTC probably grinds his teeth watching EastEnders under SOC. He gave Whitney a baby and SOC killed it, he brought back Jack so Ronnie could have her happily ever after and SOC killed her... I bet he's wishing he never left.

How do you think Kat and Alfie would be under Sean's era?
