Not really. I think surely HMs are stupid enough to know that judging by the last 17 years, the 300 strong crowd is no indication of who is popular.
Lets not forget people like Helen, Bear and Aaron won (all people who were booed by the crowd).
What would they take? The fact that a small crowd outside booed them, or the viewers who actually voted them more than James J? The latter obviously.
