Original.

The 2006 one was a prequel to the remake.

Wasn't much of a prequel IMO. Could have been a sequel if you took out the baby in the dumpster parts.

I used to be so into horror and nowadays new horrors just rarely interest me. I'm finding myself way more interested in exploring older horrors (by older I mean silent movie era), might give The Cabinet of Dr Caligari a watch sometime soon. It's been on my list for a while, it looks creepy as ****.

From the bits and pieces of those really old horrors I've seen, the sheer atmosphere is way above anything we'd get nowadays.

Mine Games
Crazy Eights
Willow Creek
The Strangers
As Above So Below
Would You Rather
Silent House
Orphanage
Orphan
The Forest
Rec (apparently this is not in English though?)
Mama
Blair Witch
Friend Request
The Babadook

The Strangers is overrated. I watched it last week and I thought it was kinda flat.

Orphan is really good, it has a great twist too.

As Above So Below is surprisingly good, and Rec is fantastic! It being in Spanish makes it better tbh

Yeah, I've heard Orphan especially & Rec are really good movies. And I've been wanting to see As Above So Below for a while.

How similar is Rec to Quarantine? (if any of you have seen Quarantine)... I thought Quarantine was a great movie (1 & 2, idk if there's been more than that) and love the idea of it so Rec might be the way to go.

Quarantine is a good film, but it's pretty much a carbon copy of Rec and was only made to make some quick money. I prefer Rec though, as there's just something about it being in a foreign language that I love. There are some differences in the film however, so don't let that put you off. I didn't like Quarantine 2 lol, it was a massive step down from the first. Rec 2 is a pretty solid film as well, definitely worth a watch.

I went to see Split today.

It wasn't as scary and jolting as I expected but I still enjoyed it nonetheless. Excellent performances from James McAvoy and Betty Buckley. Hedwig made me scream

I need to watch Unbreakable as I've heard Split is a sequel to that and the ending ties in to it.

@ Richard

Ils/Them (2006)
Ŕ l'intérieur (2007)
You're Next (2011)
Torment (2013)
Hush (2016)
Vacancy (2007)
Emelie (2015)
When a Stranger Calls (1979) - the remake is underrated too

Fear (1996) this is more of a thriller but the end is definitely home invasion

It can't be overrated because it wasn't particularly well received by most . If anything it's vastly underrated, one of the most genuinely unnerving horrors I've seen.

I love it too, it's very underrated and kind of forgotten but it's really well put together imo and the cast is pretty solid.

Speaking of home invasion horror movies, I think these kinda, if not exactly, fit under that category: I Spit On Your Grave & The Last House On The Left are pretty decent horrors although pretty twisted... only for those who don't hate gruesome/torture horror films.

I watched 'As above,so below' recently and it was quite good. Have you seen 'Descent'? That's really good and the sequal is out now too, although I haven't seen that yet.
