It's fine where it is, its chat, it's not front page news even on a slow news day, stuff like this goes on every day of the week unreported sadly

I dunno I feel a bit sorry for him. Obviously he has a terrible attitude and maybe that says a lot about the sort of person he is but on the other hand this is one incident of drunken behaviour, does he deserve to have his life ruined over it? He's already no doubt been subjected to abuse worse than what he did to the homeless person and will be completely ostracised from all his peers because of it. Plenty of people have got away with much worse

Why? What's to debate 97 per cent of the population would say he was a crass idiot, unless you represent the other 3 per cent there isn't a lot to talk about

I think what the homeless person is facing/will face in life will be far worse than anything that happens to this guy so I find it really hard to have sympathy for him over it personally. But maybe the exposure and the negative reaction to him will be a learning thing and he might improve himself/his attitude as a result, and that would be a great thing and possibly benefit him in the future. Because the person he is now, if he thinks it's good or fun or whatever to do something like that, then something needed to happen if he's going to change. Even if it affects some of his relationships or opportunities, that's just a consequence of something he's done and that's just life, and it's his own doing. He shouldn't be immune to having consequences for his actions because he has a privileged life. I agree that people do a lot worse that goes unnoticed but that doesn't mean that what he did wasn't still awful, or show that the attitude he has needs changing.

I think Tom has a point. It's something that's newsworthy, isn't that why we have SD&N? And people have different opinions on it so there's a debate there. And I think the story highlights a problem of how we think of and treat and homeless people. In fact not just in the story itself but that the 'victim' in this story is a homeless person and yet it's considered to be a 'fun' thing to discuss?

As most people on here know, I went to Cambridge from a comprehensive school after working really hard for it. As a working class person I saw and heard some jaw-droppingly insensitive crap from chinless wonders who swanned into Cambridge on the strength of their family name and money. Sadly, they'll mostly do well because of their connections and nothing to do with merit. The worst thing you can do to rich people is make them into poor people. I hope that happens to this dickhead... soon.

I wil write out a cheque later for a million pounds and burn in front of a charity shop.

Silly rich boy silly poor boy, people love to jump on the band wagon.

People on here are so easily offended and taking the moral high ground.

Burning a cheque isn't actually burning the money.
