I just don't understand how a producer can "fix the show" and maintain a good quality for several months, then completely destroy it again in the space of a single episode.

It was going well up until the final fifteen minutes of the New Year's episode.

We need a good balance between SOC, a guy who seems to have whipped the writing staff into shape when it comes to basic script and share out screen time amongst the cast fairly well (most of the time) and DTC, who had great plot ideas and a big vision for the show.

To be honest though no matter what SOC did from now on, I'll always have him as the worst producer just because of the shambles of a decision that axing and then killing Ronnie and Roxy was.

I feel like their death has just ruined the show forever for me, not meaning to be dramatic

I thought I was over it for a few weeks but I'm definitely not. An awful awful decision and a heartbreaking (not in a good way) story line.

It's not even the fact that he chose to kill them off, for me, it's the completely unprofessional way in which he handled it on-screen. He quite clearly had some sort of issue with one or both of the actresses.

I also couldn't care less for Jack anymore. I don't understand why he's still there when DTC only brought him back so as to reunite him with Ronnie.

This was literally me the other morning when I woke up from my dream and Ronnie hadn't been revealed to have been alive the whole time <\3

When SOC insists that high drama characters like R&R don't fit in with his lower profile EastEnders I present him with this.

Ronnie and Roxy decorating the new council office when they take over bin control.

See, I would have minded no matter how he killed them off. I would have appreciated it more if it was part of a good story line etc, rather than an isolated 'freak accident' using the wedding dress as a gimmick. I was miffed if he axed them but I would have been over it by now if they've gotten a happy ending and were still out there in the world<\3

Yeah. Writing them out I didn't mind. Like Sharon, characters like them would've benefited from a break and then had a big comeback in a few years.

I could've coped with them dying in a big storyline that made sense.

As it is, ugh, I wish Sam Womack had never returned. At least Ronnie would be out there.

I was going to attempt to cheer you up by saying "well at least we've still got..." but who on earth have we still got?

Stacey but he's turned her into another Last Tango in Halifax character.

Whitney and Denise are strong in his era I feel.

I find it quite laughable how Lauren nowadays just seems to "show up".

I completely forgot she existed until I saw her sat at the Beale breakfast table.

Then I remembered they brought Steven back and I was like "Why?"

There's so much waste.

I still feel as though there's so much unresolved in regards to Bobby, Jane's disability, Kathy's return, Peter's disappearance for them to just move onto a new big story with Ian's health.

Why don't they give her more to do with Sylvie? Explore more of their relationship? It's literally the most interesting thing Shirley's been involved in for a long time.

SOC is just so FECKING DULL!!!!
