I was in Glasgow like 2 weeks back seeing Busted, and afterwards we went to KFC next to our hotel. We caught the tail end of an argument in there...some homeless guy had been given enough cash to get some food. The staff were refusing to serve him because he was homeless and 'dirty' but he wasn't even wanting to sit in, just get his sandwich and leave..but no...they would rather argue with him (and others in the shop who were standing up for him) for half an hour than serve him and he would be gone in 30 seconds. What a bunch of wankers. I suspect this isn't rare either.

(McDonalds down the road served him though)

No. Thats why we ended up going to Glasgow Newcastle was sold out so we ended up paying like 250 quid to replace them, once trains and hotel were taken into account

Then to top it all off..it really wasn't that good. Was very disappointed, though our view was great

The problem is Vicky
they take the Cash give him
his bag with Hot Food he then finds a seat,
causing others to have a go
at the Manager.

You do not know if he has
caused TROUBLE in there
a week ago,to be fair to that Scottish KFC,

Anyway McD took his cash
got his Hot Food.

He wanted to take away...even if he wanted to sit in though, I still don't see the problem. he was a person..just not as fortunate as everyone else. And he did not seem pissed of drugged up.

I felt so bad for him. Imagine sitting out constantly in the belting down rain, getting a couple of quid for food then being turned away for trying to buy food ffs.

Arista, do you believe the homeless have a right to eat? Food is the most fundamental necessity for survival so what would happen if all food outlets, including supermarkets, refused to serve the homeless?

I would have put money on that being the case, with Busted.

Arista you really disgust me sometimes. Not all homeless people smell and take drugs. There used to be a homeless man in chester who sat with his dog and my mum regularly bought him a drink from Mcdonald and we spoke to him a lot and didn't smell badly at all, he had split from his wife and lost money gambling.

I'm glad this girl spoke up, people treat the homeless like it's catching sometimes and frankly I'd rather sit and enjoy a hot chocolate with this homeless man than with a snobby indevidual who looks down on the less fortunate.

Their last tour was brilliant though

This one was all about their new music...which I don't really like that much. A couple of their new ones are ok but most aren't

If people on here care that much, take a tramp home to live with You.
I have a good heart and I feel for genuine cases but I have not got time for those that wont help themselves.

Bit of a strange train of thought there, 'if you aren't willing to take a random stranger home then you can't complain about them being treated like they are less than human.'

I think it's also a very callous thing to say 'I have not got time for those that wont help themselves' in regards to homeless people being denied service for no other reason than they are homeless. Pray tell, how are homeless people like the one in the article meant to help themselves when people aren't willing to give them a chance.

I did that once, when younger and before I had kids actually. She was very young..maybe about 17 ish. Dirty, freezing. I let her kip on my sofa and have a bath and get all cleaned up. I even bought her some new clothes the next day and gave her 20 quid to go to a shelter.

I obviously couldn't do stuff like that now though, as I wouldn't have strangers in the house with my children.

Not all (or many) homeless people are there by choice. Its usually a string of terrible luck. This girl was thrown out by her alcoholic mother and had nowhere to go as she had no friends in the area having just moved there. She had been beaten and sexually assaulted in the 5 days she had slept rough.

Good point. A surprising number of shrinks and therapists are high functioning sociopaths. I guess its because they can fit in and adapt to nearly any situation and because they are good at focussing on others, whilst feeling nothing.

Wow, I'm gob smacked. You certainly don't come over as a person who lacks empathy. You appear to have some deep set moral values. I think your shrink needs a shrink.

Just because someone is an particular job that should hold certain standards doesn't mean they do. I mean I have come across plenty of Teachers who seem to hate kids and don't even get me started on Priests and Nuns who are supposed to represent "a loving God"...............
